45 km Point-to-Point XC Mountain Bike Race
One of the most popular races in Squamish BC will return on July 21 this year. The GearJammer is a 45 km point-to-point cross country mountain bike race that starts near Alice Lake (5 km North of Squamish,) and finishes in Rose Park near downtown Squamish.
The course is a collection of favorite Squamish single-track that both serious racers and recreational mountain bikers have enjoyed in the past. Unlike many cross country races, the GearJammer contains much more single-track than double track or road. After the initial dirt road climb (used to separate racers before they enter the trails), 80% of the time spent on the course contains some of the most challenging cross country single-track in the area.
Those familiar with Squamish riding will recognize many of the course’s trail names: “Ed’s Bypass”, “Middle Power Smart”, “ReCycle”, “Pseudo-Tsuga”, “The Plunge”, and “7 Stitches”.

Back also this year is the Flow downhill ride where 120 racers rip down the specially constructed Half Nelson trail in one-minute intervals. “Flow” will being held on Squamish's 3.4 kilometre pump-track style downhill course Half Nelson, on Sunday, July 24.
