Garibaldi Village & Highlands
The Garibaldi Village area has quickly earned the reputation as the 'food & entertainment' hub of Squamish, with a steady influx of new restaurant choices, cafes and bars. Here visitors can enjoy the widest seclection of dining options all within walking distance, as well as a movie theatre.
Enjoy an ethnic treat at one of the Mexican, Indian or Sushi restaurants, grab tapas and a drink at The Burorough martini bar, or just swing by for cofee and a sandwich before heading out on your daily adventure.
Just up the hill, the Garibdali Highlands is a nice residential neighbourhood with a new neighbour; Quest University Canada. Swing by the University for a quick tour of the brand new $100M campus, grab a coffee or lunch, and enjoy the views overlooking Squamish and Howe Sound.
Or pick up the pace and explore the area's expansive network of mountain biking trails. Based from Garibaldi Highlands you can spend a day cross-country riding in the area or easily connect right through to popular riding areas at Crumpit Woods to the South or Alice Lake to the North.
How to Get Here
From downtown Squamish head north on Highway 99, turning right off the highway at Garibaldi Way (Extra Foods will be on your right). Most of the restaurants are clustered on both sides of Tantalus Way.
For mountain bikers, park at Extra Foods and head out on your bike towards Parkway Road & Park Crescent to reach the closest trail head. Or head to the top of the highlands to the end of Perth Drive to access the higher trails.
