HikingExplore Squamish by foot
There are seemingly endless hikes to choose from in the Squamish area. From ocean walks and river walks to hikes in the forest or up the mountainside, there is something for everyone!
There are both short and long strolls, beginner to advanced walks, and gentle to strenuous hikes.
A popular hike winds steeply up the backside of the Stawamus Chief, and yields absolutely breathtaking views of Squamish and Howe Sound from the top - a vantage that can also be gained from a challenging day of rock climbing up the front side.

It's all about the chief
I've had some epic hikes up the chief this spring and summer. Awesome that it only takes an hour or so up. We've been bring picnic dinners and bevies when guests from our of town are here.
Chief Hike
I just wanted to let everyone reading this know the Chief Hike is a must!!! Its almost unreal how well set up it is. A nice parking lot at the base, just south of town. A challenging 1-1.5 hour hike to the top, and wham, the views of Squamish and Howe Sound are incredible. Not everywhere can you access such a huge rock wall that easily.
