A Parents PerspectiveBy: Daphne Radford-Park ~ Squamish Mom
A fun-filled day for my young daughter and I begins with a stroll down the street to Onatah Coffee, where they have a cozy, community atmosphere, and a rosemary/cranberry scone to die for.
Then it's time to head downtown to Babies and Books at the Public Library. The children's librarian entertains our babies with stories and rhymes while us parents have a chance to catch up and learn a new song or two.
After storytime it's a short stroller walk to Gelato Carina for a pannini and a frozen treat (Gelato Carina is very stroller friendly). We mustn’t forget to poke our heads into Squamish's newest stores along the way (The Hive, Agnes Jean, Funky Monkey, to name a few).
Then its home for an afternoon nap and then either a hike or short drive to Alice Lake Provincial Park to join our baby backpacking friends on the Four Lakes Trail. After the hike we lounge by the lake, enjoying the views and the adult conversation, while our children play in and around the safe, sandy beach of Alice Lake.
That's our perfect day!
