Description: A cross country rider's delight, Wonderland descends gradually north to south for 3.0Km exiting at the junction of Highway 99 and Depot Road. Wonderland could be ridden in both directions but, it is most enjoyable and recommended southbound. One of the prettiest in Squamish, the trail winds and undulates through picturesque forest complete with gurgling creek. Wonderland has become an important trail for beginner and intermediate riders offering a great introduction to negotiating moderate roots, rocks and bridge features. New riders often revel in conquering another bridge that they didn't ride during their last outing on the trail. For the advanced rider, the more difficult entrance will find you dropping quickly through steep turns mixed with the odd off camber root to keep you on your toes. The correct line and body english will allow you to rip through the first kilometre of trail with very few pedal strokes which almost seems to defy logic. After 875m you will encounter a junction with an old dirt road. Stay right and take a quick left to resume Wonderland proper. The trail continues uninterrupted for another 2.0Km of the same quality singletrack.

If you're looking to add some distance to your ride, why not add White Rabbit to your itinerary. As mentioned above, you can find the trailhead for White Rabbit by taking the junction to the north off of Alice Lake Park Road. Stay right onto a dirt road and then keep left heading for the highway bridge over the Cheekye River. The trail starts high on top of the Cheekye's southern river bank. White Rabbit offers much of the same character as Wonderland and will add another 1.5Km to your ride. The first short loop places you onto an old access road for the river. Stay right briefly and then take a left at the next junction. You are now riding a section of trail on The Cheekye River's dike which protects the highway from flood waters. After a short gradual climb, the trail dips to the right and begins a rhythm-like section of undulations that winds its way to the park road almost directly across from Wonderland's moderate trailhead.

Conditions: This Trail has just received some tender loving care by SORCA with the addition of some new bridgework and gravel. Care should be taken in the wetter months (not that there is many in Squamish!) as the trail can become very muddy.

Direction of travel: Most riders will ride up to Alice Lake area and ride the trail down however there are some who ride up the trail to Alice Lake. Hikers as well as mountain bikes enjoy this trail experience so please always ride in control and to your ability

Length: approximately 2.3 km

Grading: Green / Blue

Directions:

A common approach for riders coming from Brackendale or Garibaldi Highlands is to take the Cheekye Fan trails or Jack's trail to Alice Lake Park respectively. For drivers, there are parking areas on either side of the highway at the Alice Lake turnoff. If riding up the Cheekye Fan trails, safely cross the highway and continue 250m up Alice Lake Park Road (20m beyond a junction leading to the chain-up area on the highway and the trailhead for White Rabbit). Watch for the first, moderate entrance to Wonderland on the south side of the road. Riding another 330m up the road, (after a short, steep climb) offers a more challenging descent to start the trail. Approaching from Jack's, continue through Alice Lake parking areas taking a left once you reach the park road. Watch for the more difficult trailhead on the left in 575m. Continue down the road for another 330m to find the moderate trailhead shortly before the aforementioned junction in the road.
